WATCH THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MICHAEL JOHNATHON | Michael Johnathon’s WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour finds a home on big screens throughout the New York metropolitan area through a partnership with Clearview Cinemas. "Clearview Cinemas is pleased to partner with WoodSongs so music fans and moviegoers alike can experiencefolksinger Michael Johnathon's world renown 'Old-Time Radio Hour' on the big screen for the first time," said Doug Oines, senior vice president and general manager of Clearview Cinemas. "WoodSongs is another terrific example of Clearview's commitment to provide unique entertainment choices for all audiences." What began in a small recording studio that could barely fit 18 people has developed into a multi-media, live audience broadcast that airs on 491 radio stations worldwide, XM Satellite Radio, online and on public television stations across the nation. Each week, millions of people tune in to hear WoodSongs produced every Monday evening from the historic Kentucky Theater in Lexington, KY. What is especially impressive with this theater venture is the opportunity to create a concert setting for viewers that are unable to make a taping. Michael Johnathon, the folksinger, songwriter, environmentalist and creator behind the broadcast, is no stranger to the stage. In addition to the radio show, he tours in support of his latest release Walden The Earth Song Collection and wrote "Walden The Ballad of Thoreau," a play that has been presented in over 6,700 schools, colleges and community theaters worldwide including South Korea, Egypt, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Australia, Ireland, Argentina, Syria, England, Germany, Israel, Canada and the Unites States. Also, like his hero Thoreau, he is a published author releasing two books filled with social commentaries, short stories, memoirs, and songs.
